Chub Mackerel (Scomber colias)
Characteristics
The Chub Mackerel is a long, streamlined relative of the other mackerel species and is a greenish, blue color. They are found all over the Atlantic Ocean on both the west and east. Chub Mackerel have a dark meat with a high oil content. Their high oil content makes them a great choice for bait and for smoking to eat.
Seasonality
The fishing season for Chub Mackerel is between the months of April-November. We are able to offer the product all year long.
