Monkfish (Lophius)
Characteristics
Monkfish are a large, broad, flat and depressed fish with a large head. They are found on the bottom of the Atlantic ocean floor. Monkfish tails are a prized culinary piece of meat that chefs around the world cook with. Furthermore, Monk heads are a favorite bait of many fishermen.
Seasonality
The fishing season for Monkfish runs from March until October. We are able to supply all Monkfish products year round.
Packaging
We currently offer Monk fish graded as 100-300 grams, 400+ grams, 300-800 grams. These products come packed in 44 Lbs cartons or 33 Lbs cartons. We do also offer food grade tails, and fillets.
